# Median of a segment : corrected 6th grade math exercises in PDF.

The answers to the exercises on the bisector of a segment and the construction of triangles in 6th grade. Know how to construct a perpendicular bisector using the compass and the ruler or with the square. Know the properties and definition of the perpendicular bisector of a segment in the sixth grade.

Exercise 1:

What do you find?

We see that these two bisectors are perpendicular.

Exercise 2:

We note that the three bisectors of a triangle are concurrent.

Exercise 3:

What is the nature of triangle ABC?

Explain why.

Any point on a bisector of a segment is equidistant (at the same distance) from the ends of the segment.

Thus CA = CB so the triangle ABC is isosceles in C.

Exercise 4:

1) AD=DC likewise AB=BC

therefore points B and D are equidistant from the ends A and C of the segment [AC]

we deduce that B and D are the bisector of the segment [AC].

2) The line (BD) is the perpendicular bisector of the segment [AB].

Exercise 5:

1) The line is perpendicular to [MN] and passes through its center

so it is the bisector of the segment [MN].

2) A is on the bisector of the segment [MN], so it is equidistant from the vertices M and N.

AN=AM= 5 cm.

Exercise 6:

The lines (d) and (d ‘) are perpendicular to the same line (AC) so

they are parallel to each other.

Exercise 7:

a) The line (d) is not perpendicular to the segment so it is not its perpendicular bisector.

b) The line (d) does not pass through the middle of the segment so it is not its perpendicular bisector.

c) The right (d) is perpendicular to the segment [AB] and passes through its middle, so it is its perpendicular bisector.

d) The line (d) is not perpendicular to the segment so it is not its perpendicular bisector.

e) The right (d) does not pass through the middle of the segment so it is not its perpendicular bisector.
