The problem it solves

Families with children at different stages often juggle several books and websites. One child needs fractions, another needs functions. Planète Maths puts 17 levels in one app, so every child in the house can find the right place to start without a new download.

What this math app for kids offers

  • Lessons with definitions, step-by-step methods, solved examples and diagrams.
  • Problems sorted by difficulty: one, two or three stars.
  • Quizzes of 10 questions with an immediate answer, Zyro’s explanation and sounds.
  • A test per chapter, scored out of 20, to practice like in class.
  • 10 interactive tools that explain the result: GCF and LCM, prime factors, fractions, percentages, cross-multiplication, mean and median, Pythagoras, equations, quadratics and a unit converter.
  • Zyro’s Challenge and the daily challenge: timed mental math with points, streaks of correct answers and records.

The chapters range from numbers and calculation to geometry, functions, sequences, probability, linear algebra and analysis. The app works offline, so it is handy in the car or on a trip.

Who it is for

The levels are CP, CE1, CE2, CM1, CM2, 6ème, 5ème, 4ème, 3ème, 2de, 1ère, Terminale, Maths Sup, Maths Spé, then Licence 1, 2 and 3. In US terms, the primary years sit roughly at Grade 1 to Grade 5, then 6ème is Grade 6 (6ème) and the high school years follow. Content is organized by the French program, so expect a different order from a US textbook.

  • Younger children who enjoy a character and a score.
  • Middle and high school students who want quick daily practice.
  • College students who need a refresher in algebra or analysis.

Because the levels are clearly separated, a child who is ahead or behind can simply pick the level that fits, instead of the one that matches their age. A ten-year-old who loves numbers can try 6ème material, and a teenager who is shaky on fractions can go back to CM1 without embarrassment. The app keeps each profile local, so nobody else sees the scores.

Getting started
