Highlights of this book
- 13 chapters, from “Place Value to 1,000” to “Shapes and Equal Shares”
- A Key facts box at the start of every chapter
- Diagrams with captions and numbered steps for each method
The book follows the order in which Grade 2 topics are usually taught: it opens with place value to 1,000 and closes with shapes and equal shares. Each chapter fits on a few pages and lists the Common Core codes it covers, which makes it easy to match with the unit your child is studying in class.
Explanations are written as answers to real questions (“How do you…?”, “What is…?”), with a labeled figure whenever a picture helps more than a sentence. The table of contents is clickable, and bookmarks let you jump to any chapter on screen.
Who is it for?
For a second grader moving from counting to fluent adding and subtracting, and for the parents, tutors and homeschooling families who work with them.
