– C and D are such that RC = RD = 3
– E and F are such that RE = RF = 5
– G and H are such that RG = RH = 7
– I and J are such that RI = RJ = 9
– K and L are such that RK = RL = 11

3. Draw all the triangles with vertices R, S and one of the points constructed
previously.

4. Code equal lengths in this figure.

Reproduce the figure below using the ruler and the protractor.

Exercise 5 – Quadrilateral inscribed in a triangle

a. Draw a triangle ABC such that AB = 3 cm, AC = 5 cm and \widehat{BAC}=100^{\circ}.

b. Place the point M on the segment [AB] such that AM = 1 cm .

c. Through M, draw the parallel to the line (BC); it intersects the line (AC) at N.

d. Through M, draw the perpendicular to the line (BC); it intersects (BC) at Q.

Through N, draw the parallel to the line (MQ); it intersects (BC) at P.

e. What can we say about the lines (MQ) and (MN)?

Explain why.

f. What can we say about the lines (NP) and (PQ)?

Explain why.

g. What is the nature of the quadrilateral MNPQ ?

Explain why.

Exercise 6 – Right-angled triangle and angles

a. On white paper, draw a triangle ABC rectangle in A such that AB = 5 cm and AC = 8 cm .

b. Place on the hypotenuse [BC] the point E such that \widehat{BAE}=30^{\circ}.

c. On the half-line [EA), place the point F such that :

F\notin%5BAE)\,,\,AF=3\,cm

d. Calculate the measure of each of the following angles, explaining your answer:

\widehat{CAE}\,,\,\widehat{CAF}\,,\,\widehat{FAB}

Exercise 7 – Construction of triangles

1. ABC is an isosceles triangle at A such that AB = 5 cm and BC = 4 cm .

2. DEF is an isosceles triangle at E such that EF = 6 cm and \widehat{DEF}=130^{\circ}.

3. GHI is an equilateral triangle with side length 4 cm .

4. JKL is a right triangle in L such that JL = 5 cm and KL = 6 cm .

5. PQR is an isosceles right triangle at Q such that QR = 4 cm .

Exercise 8 – Give the nature of a triangle

In each case, make the figure described and

indicate the nature of the triangle.

a. ABC is a triangle such that (AC)\perp\,(BC).

b. MNP is a triangle such that MN=NP and (MN)\perp\,(NP).

c. EFG is an isosceles triangle at each of its vertices.

Exercise 9 – Construction of triangles and parallels

a. Draw a triangle ABC.

b. Through point A, draw the line (d) parallel to the line (BC) .

Through point B, draw the line (d’) parallel to the line (AC); it intersects (d) at E .

Through point C, draw the line (d”) parallel to the line (AB); it intersects (d) at F and (d’) at G.

c. Draw the lines (EC), (BF) and (AG) .
